Embracing the Wash&Go|RETURN TO NATURAL

Since I first started my natural curl journey, I always wanted to be able to do wash and go’s. In the past couple months, my curl pattern has reached the point where it looks nice when I just wash & go. This is something beyond exciting for me because now I can show off my beautiful curl pattern! I’m not 100% sure what my hair type is, I believe it is either 3c/4a or 4a/4b. I do know that my hair loves moisture so the first thing I had to learn when trying to perfect the wash and go is that I need all the conditioner and cream that I could get.

In my latest wash and go, I washed my hair with a bentonite clay mix consisting of bentonite clay, water, coconut oil, and Cantu acv + peppermint oil root rinse.

These products mixed together allowed for all impurities to be removed from my scalp and hair. If you read my post mask on, mask off, I mentioned how the clay helped my curls spring up. I added coconut oil to make sure I put some of that moisture back in and Cantu root rinse to reduce itching and feel the sensation of the peppermint oil. I let this mixture sit for 30 minutes before thoroughly rinsing.

After rinsing my hair, I split my hair into sections and began working in Cantu moisturizing lotion, Aussie moist conditioner, a blend of oils, and water. This combination made it a simple process to detangle my hair with minimum breakage.

When my hair is completely detangled, I add a gel to define my curls and comb with my Denman brush. On my latest wash and go, I used Aunt Jackie’s no shrink flaxseed gel. I will say this gel did help my hair stay longer but my curls were not as defined as I would like when I used the Denman brush.

I went ahead and tried the product again and finger detangled instead of using the brush. I was happy to see my curls elongated, defined, and moisturized.

When I finish each step, I let my hair air dry and my style is complete ❤️
