What I wore: Chicago

This summer I visited the beautiful windy city of Chicago! I got to explore the downtown area with my boyfriend and his family. We spent the day there and the scenery was gorgeous, so my Instagram is filled with pictures of my day trip, be sure to check that out!

When deciding what to wear for this trip my boyfriend decided that I should push for a street look to match my surroundings. I wanted my outfit to be simple since I imagined my background being busy. With both these ideas, I came up with a simple streetwear look that was comfortable for a full days wear, but fashionable enough to get great pictures.

On my head, I am wearing a pair of black cat eye sunglasses. I mostly wore them atop my head because the sun was not unbearable. These glasses are the perfect prop for photos and just a cute accessory to add some spice to any outfit. Even if it is not sunny, I recommend wearing sunglasses to make an outfit pop or come together.

The next accessory I decided to add to my outfit was my small gold necklace. I am not a jewelry person, but I so badly want to add it to my daily wardrobe. The perfect way to do so is by wearing dainty pieces. Dainty jewelry is small but can transform the way an outfit looks easily. I’m planning on adding more small necklaces to my jewelry collection, in order to layer them and make a large statement with a small piece.

I forgot to label these on the picture above because I could not see them so excuse that. But I am wearing large gold hoops to match my necklace (which you can see in the photo below). Even though it seems like my braids are swallowing the earrings, in some pictures you can see them very well. I also am not a big hoop person, but lately, I have been adding them to every outfit for some extra glam.

The top is to satisfy my idea of what I wanted my outfit to embody. It is simple and girly, which worked well in my pictures no matter the location. The light blue works well with my golden braids. Overall I just love this shirt! I purchased this shirt in Mexico last summer at Bershka. This top was not too tight, which is a must when wearing one outfit for the entire day. COMFORT IS KEY. And the material did not make me hot even with the beating hot sun.

My bottoms were to satisfy my boyfriend’s idea of what I should wear. I love these pants because they are comfortable and make any outfit look like I actually tried. I talk about these pants more in a post, where I give my first impression on fashion nova.

Okay now for my shoes, I wore my Fenty puma creepers and this was a terrible idea! I loved the added height and how they flattered my outfit but the pain my feet suffered was not okay. I knew from the start these were not walking shoes, I thought I could handle them for just the day. Obviously, I thought wrong, however, they do look cute in my photos so there’s that.

I had an amazing time in Chicago and loved the outfit I put together for this trip. If you want to see more parisqt outfit breakdowns like and comment!
