What is the body of a QT?

I want to share my story & journey of loving my body and self through this project. I am hoping that I have the ability to touch others so that they can join the journey as well. 

When was the first time you realized you did not like something about your body? This question might be too easy. What about a time when vividly remember loving your body? Possibly, a more difficult question for many, including myself.

Just think about it for a second, picture how much time is spent disliking features of ourselves that we may or may not be able to change. I’m guilty of this myself and decided last year I wanted to change this.

How did I come up with the body of a QT?

One day venting to my younger sister (as I do ever so often) we found ourselves talking about body discomforts we both have. After our conversation, I wondered how could I start feeling better about myself. And immediately thought about how I could get other people involved to not only hold me accountable but reach others going through the same thing.

How is the body of a QT going to help me?

I’m honestly not sure if it will help me, but I have been really excited about starting this project and hopefully some good comes out of it. I imagined that this would allow me to feel more confident in myself, my body, my creativity, and my writing ability.

How is the body of a QT going to help others?

I envisioned that this project would help others through the transparency of it. People are often afraid to talk about the many topics I want to address through the project. I’m hoping that I will reach people who need to know they are not alone in how they feel or people who want to share their stories too.

What are the main goals for the body of a QT?

Short term: Gain 100 followers on the @bodyofaqt Instagram page. Share at least one other person’s story next month.

Long term: Reach someone! Create consistent content, with high engagement. Be able to invite guests to chat with me about these issues. Hold meetups for live discussion, I’m thinking a brunch full of QT’s.

So, what is the project?

The body of a qt project will focus on talking about issues regarding the body (in a number of ways) to build confidence and awareness. This will mainly be through @bodyofaqt Instagram and Paris Atavia blog. The project will not only focus on me, every month the project will feature a person who focuses on another topic of the body; however, I will give monthly updates about my topic as well. The main component of this project is diving deeper into all issues including but not limited to; acne, mental health, hair and much more. There are a lot of other things I plan to do within this project, but I do not want to spill everything just yet.

I know that this project will be a lot of fun for me, I’m hoping that others will enjoy it just as much.
