Confidence in swimwear| Body of a QT

I asked my Instagram followers to help me spread some bikini self-love tips. Thank you to all my follower who participated, I’ll be sharing the most positive ones now:

“I tell myself that my body type is just as beautiful as others.”

There are many body types in the world and it is not right to think that each person should have the same one. Once you are able to realize that your body type is yours and beautiful, wearing a swimsuit could be a little easier for you.

“Getting over this “bikini body” mindset [brings confidence]. Anybody is a bikini body if you find what’s right for you.”

The idea of having a bikini body comes from mainstream media which is always telling consumers how they should be for certain products. There is no such thing as a bikini body, you have to find pieces that work for your body. Whether that means one-pieces or high-waisted bottoms, it will mean so much to wear swimwear that works for you.

“I create a whole look, so it’s not just swimwear, it’s an outfit.”

When the thought of wearing only a swimsuit becomes too much, it may be helpful to work around it. Wearing shorts or cover-ups could minimize the discomfort of swimwear.

“Just put it on look at myself in the mirror and tell myself I look good.”

You are your worse critic, it means a lot when you compliment yourself.

“Smile and don’t worry about what others think. Also, wear what makes me feel good.!”

How others feel about the way you look in swimwear can not control you. Going back to wearing what makes you feel comfortable, always wear swimwear that gives you that “I’m that one” feeling.

“Stand nude in the mirror counter each critique with a compliment. Then dance nude”

Looking at the body as a whole and learning to compliment and appreciate it can be a difficult task, but an important one.

Swimwear does not have to be a scary thing! At times, I struggle to feel confident with the way my body looks and would rather not show it off to the world in a swimsuit. Because of my goals with Body of a QT and feeling more confident with my body, I took many pictures in a bikini, and have decided to share @bodyofaqt on Instagram. This is a huge discomfort for me and I’m hoping that Body of a QT continues to make me uncomfortable until I am comfortable and confident with my body. I encourage all my QT’s out there to share their confident swimwear pictures using the tag #BodyofaQT
