Updated Wash and Go Routine |RETURN TO NATURAL

Is it actually a wash and go, if you can’t wash and go?

I’m finally back with another post for the Return To Natural series! If you’re new here, welcome, the return to natural series is a time for me to share hair care tips and tricks. I transitioned my hair from straight to curly a few years ago, and love to help others do the same.

I’m going to be sharing my updated wash and go routine, you can find my previous one here. In my last routine, I washed my hair with the aztec clay, I honestly was too lazy to do that this time. I started with freshly co-washed hair and left it damp to start styling.

The first thing that I do when starting any hairstyle ever, is spray my hair with water. I absolutely have to style my hair when it’s wet. Styling on dry hair is difficult for me to comb through and I feel like I end up losing more hair.

After ensuring that my hair is wet enough, I start the detangling process. I do this step before adding product because I want to be sure that the product can actually get into the hair strands. If my hair is really tangled, I add moisturizer before combing. Typically water is enough and in this case it was.

When detangling is complete I go in with my products, and smooth them onto my hair. In this wash and go I used: Aussie Moist conditioner, Shea Moisture curl and style milk, Cantu wave whip, Aunt Jackie’s don’t shrink flaxseed gel, and sulfur 8 (for my scalp)

Next, I go in with my blow dryer, using the attachment diffuser piece. As you can see in the picture I am pressing the cold button, and I use that setting the entire time.

Once my air is about 60% dry, I stop diffusing and let my hair air dry. I try not to touch my hair anymore at this point to avoid messing up the curls. Don’t let anyone touch your hair okay?

And when it is all done, I realize I messed up my sweatshirt with product. But at least I got a nice wash and go out of it!

Hope you all enjoyed this updated routine using stills from my wash and go video. Be sure to check out the full video on my YouTube channel, just look up Paris Atavia. Love you all, show me your wash and go looks!
