E.L.F Skincare Highlights

The good the bad and the moisturizing

If you keep up with me on Youtube, which you definitely should, you know that I recently tried some skincare products from E.L.F. I originally did not know that they even had a skincare line, as I knew that they focused on makeup. My search for some moisturizing skincare items led me to Glossier, but once I decided that was too expensive for me, I got a “perfect timing” ad from E.L.F displaying its skincare. Although, I would like the cookies in my web browser to relax, they helped me out this time!

Once I was on E.L.F’s website I was extremely overwhelmed with the amount of products they had. I tried to narrow it down based on my skins needs, but even that was difficult to do. I ended up becoming interested in the Cannabis line, as it mentioned that it was nourishing for the skin. I also knew that I wanted to get lip care products, as that is also an important area to take care of when it comes to skincare!

Disclaimer: I have normal-dry, sensitive skin, with minor breakouts and sometimes a little redness. I’m no expert when it comes to skincare, and my typical clear skin is from my genes! If you have dry skin these products may work for you, but this is not meant to be copied to get clear skin. Now enough of that, let’s get into it!

SuperClarify cleanser: As I mentioned in my video, this cleanser does exactly what is expected. After using it for a while, I believe that it gently cleanses my skin. With some cleansers my face will become extremely red, but I don’t get that problem with this. The only negative I have with this product is that it is a thin consistency. It comes out of the bottle very quickly, causing me to use or waste too much of the product.

Happy Hydration Cream: This cream is absolutely amazing! In my video I mention that it is a little too thick for my liking, as I typically use water based moisturizer. After using this product for some time, I’ve figured out how much I need to use on my face for the perfect balance. When doing my “skincare routine,” I have been using all of the products, but honestly could get away with just using this one. My face has not been dry since I started using this!

Mint Lip Exfoliator: I was mad at this product at first because it took too long for the exfoliation to begin. Now, I love this exfoliator because it comes in the shape of a lipstick making application and clean up so easy! The exfoliation is not the only great thing about this, it also moisturizes the lips, so if you forget your chapstick you’ll be fine. But don’t forget your chapstick because you need that too.

Calm Balm: I actually changed my mind about this product. Originally, I thought I liked it because it felt moisturizing upon application. After, using it for a few weeks, it’s almost gone. I know chapstick is a necessity and can be used up fairly quick, but to me that was a bad sign. Also, it’s not as moisturizing as it seemed. When I apply it, it feels good, but quickly dries up. I definitely will not be purchasing again.

Clear Lip Lacquer: I changed my mind about this one too but for the better. I originally bought it as I imagined it to be a clear gloss. After trying it and feeling how thick it was, I was not a big fan. However, I did some research to find that lacquer is supposed to be like a hybrid of gloss and lipstick. In that case, I find that this lacquer is smooth and moisturizing. Not as glossy as my usual lipgloss, but good for certain looks. Bonus points for the vanilla scent.

All The Feels Facial Oil: I don’t have much to say about this because I have little knowledge about what could go wrong with a facial oil. This one feels moisturizing and I do not feel greasy after applying (just a little shiny).

Puff Puff Primer: This primer is extremely thick, so if that’s what you like, this primer is for you! I had to adjust the amount that I used, as I like coverage but I don’t want to feel like I have too much product on. Since it is thick, I do feel moisturized after using.

Soothing Aloe Facial Mist: This spray is refreshing to use after applying all the products, makeup, or just throughout the day. It gets the job done and feels good while doing so.

Overall, I’m very happy with my purchases from E.L.F cosmetics skincare line. If I had to buy anything again it would be the Lip Exfoliator and the Happy Hydration Cream. Let me know if I should try anything else!
