Fall Style Must Haves: Quarantine Edition

Let’s face it, we’re going to be stuck inside for a while! All my fashion people out there, I know it’s sad but hold on. You can still express yourself through clothing.

Almost everyone’s favorite line is “I cannot wait until fall, so I can really start dressing.” Even though I am not the biggest fan of cold weather, I will say I do love to bundle up in these cooler months. With having to stay at home, the need for fashion is changing. It’s no longer necessary for us to shop with the mindset that other people will see us (although if that’s all you think about when shopping… we have to talk.)

Now the function of fashion has shifted more towards comfort, and having the ability to quickly dress before zoom calls. Our needs are obviously changing, so our wardrobe has to follow. I’ve rounded up some of my favorite fall/cooler weather pieces that are perfect for expressing your style while maintaining comfort.

Hoodies/Crewnecks

Everyone loves a good hoodie, and I’m sure that’s a fact! I think hoodies and crewnecks are a great quarantine piece to have, because they are so versatile you can wear them with almost anything. Then if you have to make a quick store run, you’ll still look put together.

Cozy Sweaters

Sweater weather is already here, and they are honestly the best cozy piece to own. I had to add this to the quarantine list because you can never go wrong with a cozy sweater. Sweaters can have fun prints to showcase your personality, and they can even be more professional to wear on zoom calls.

Oversized Tees

I’m obsessed with oversized tees! I added this because you can style an oversized tee in many ways. But no matter how you style it, it’s going to be comfortable.

Sweatpants/ Joggers

Anything I can easily toss on in the morning, I’m a huge fan of. Sweats make it so easy to get dressed in the morning and provide maximum comfort when sitting at the computer for hours. Sweatpants are being worn so much more than usual nowadays. It makes perfect sense, as no one can see your bottom half anyway!

Velour Tracksuits

Velour tracksuits are the perfect quarantine fall piece to own! First of all, they are comfortable and warm, honestly, just that should have you convinced. It doesn’t take a lot of effort to style them if you get the matching jacket and pants. These are my ultimate lazy day pieces and they most likely will continue to be even when we can go outside.

Scarves

Scarves have become a core piece for me during this quarantine. My hair is a lot drier in the cooler months so often I lazily style my hair. Popping a scarf over makes me look 10X more polished, and I get to protect my hair at the same time. What I love most about scarves is the fact that you can tie them in many ways. For example, if you get cold easily you can tie the scarf to cover your hair and ears!

Being stylish in quarantine has been interesting to say the least. But it’s always fun to try new looks even when the function of fashion in our lives changes over time.
