WORKOUT ROUTINE 2017

IMG_3258One of my main goals for 2017 was to get FIT! All my life my mom had my sisters and I play sports; I was always active. Now being in college, I don’t play sports anymore so I have to hit the gym. Gyms can be scary! I usually do not have the motivation to go and especially not alone. I had to figure out what worked for me, and now I actually like working out!!!!!! Super exciting because when working out doesn’t feel like a chore, it feels so much better. Now I need to get super fit, I’m on my journey towards some gorgeous abs 😍

Here is what I’m doing in 2017 to kick start my journey! 

Ok, the first thing that was so important for me was to ditch the idea that I had to workout with someone. When I first started working out again it was normal for me to bring a friend to the gym or workout with my sister. This was fine and actually a bonus to make sure that I  actually went since they held me accountable. BUT LET ME TELL YOU, holding myself accountable is a must. Sometimes schedules don’t match up or they just don’t feel like it. DO IT BY YOURSELF. It is okay, and you will get the same results even without a partner, crazy right? 

To actually get into the groove of working out (yes it took me a while to like it,) I had to slowly ease my way into it. It’s not a race, just start off slow. If it feels easy at first that’s actually good for me because in my head I’m like “oh this is easy, I can do it all the time.” And over time, you make your workout more intense. 

Now that your mind is right and you know you can work out even when you’re solo let’s get into what I use so I can get this body looking right:

I use this beautiful and FREE website www.darebee.com

This website has so many workout charts and I pick them based off of what I am trying to target. So nine times out of ten, I’m searching for ab workouts! They have workout plans that target any body part and difficulty levels. They also have workouts for people who don’t have a lot of free time, people who do and do not have access to the gym, with and without equipment, literally everything. When I first started using the site, I used the beginner level now I’m working my way up. I like to do the programs because they have workouts to do for an entire month, so I don’t fall off.

My absolute favorite program right now is HIIT, because it’s super intense and works every part of my body but focuses on abs. All I do is turn on some good music and get going. 

Now for music, for me, I have to play upbeat songs that make me want to get through my workout. I try not to listen to my own library because I will sing and dance along rather than do my sit-ups. 

I have Apple Music and I like to simply search “hip hop workout”

These are songs that get me pumped up and working (I still sing but not as much.) If you don’t have Apple Music, you could search playlist like this on any music app or just make your own. 

NOW for the most important step in my workout routine, we have all been waiting for….. Drum roll, please…. 

WATER. AGUA. H20. 

I stay hydrated and drink water before, during, and after my workout no matter how intense or weak it was.
