Why support is so important!!!!

Let’s get on this important topic:

Support is essential for anything to become something better. When something gets followers or a fanbase other people are able to appreciate the work as much as you. When your favorite artists or clothing brand releases something, you’re quick to check it out. This same energy needs to be reflected in friendships or for local businesses. I know sometimes when people are selling something, their prices may be out of your budget, but buying is NOT the only way to support someone.

Support is what drives people to want to continue pursuing their passions and perfecting their craft. The only way someone can honestly get better at what they do is if they keep practicing, and normally people need some sort of attention or gratification to make them keep practicing. Yes, people do things for themselves, but if someone is trying to make their passion a brand or maybe a career they NEED support. Support is vital in just about everyone’s life.

I keep this blog and all my social media up and running because of support! Even though I’m not at 10k followers and what not, I have a small group of people who support me and is amazing. The biggest issue with support to me is that people dislike seeing other people succeed. This idea needs to be thrown in the trash ASAP! If someone is doing the same thing as you, it’s absolutely okay to support them. There is never a reason to be unsupportive just because of jealousy. Supporting others is not a hard concept, but let’s just be honest. . . haters do exist. This is truly sad but I have realized that the best thing that I can do is support myself and others will soon follow.

Here are a few ways you can support your family or friends/online buddies:

1. BUY THEIR STUFF (if they sell something)– if you have money and want to support your people, buy their things. Do not ask for discounts!!!! If you want to see their business booming expect to pay full price just like anyone else. Only when the seller themselves offers a discount it is okay.
2. Follow their social media accounts– Okay so you’re broke, it’s fine! Follow up on their social media and BE ACTIVE. Show them some love because when other people see you love what they do, they might just find something they love too.
3. Share, Share, Share– When you like what this person does, act like their bragging mother and share their craft. If it’s a blog share their link if it’s music play the song if it’s photos show them off. Don’t be afraid to retweet or click the share button! You are giving this person free advertising which could help them build their brand.
4. Talk about it!– Not really a social media person? If it fits the context bring up the business/brand. Your coworker needs a new wig?— Bring up your girl that sells them.
5. Send messages of support– Reminding the person that you support them and love what they do could boost their confidence and self-esteem, which can translate into the brand. Words are important and are essential for supporting others.

I think the biggest takeaway is realizing that everyone has potential to do something that they love. When you see someone putting effort into their craft you should want to support them and if not pass it on to someone you know that will appreciate it.
